First of all, celebrating New Year is against Islam. Islam is a simple religion, it likes simplicity, there is no room in Islamic society for myths, rhetoric and unnecessary actions. According to Islam, the best action is that which is based on worshiping and obeying Allah and serving God's creation. Why is there so much joy at the end of the year starting from January? What is the reason for the frenzy to celebrate it? Is this procedure suitable for Muslims? Does Muslims have anything to do with this new year? Then why are Muslims doing this work today? After all, who invented it? Which nation celebrates New Year? Why celebrate? And what attitude should Muslims adopt at this time?
Actually, this New Year celebration is invented by Christians, the tradition of celebrating New Year has been going on among Christians since ancient times. According to their belief, Jesus was born on December 25. Christmas Day is celebrated with joy, leading to a state of celebration around the world that continues until the arrival of the New Year. The country is decorated with colorful lights and lanterns to celebrate the New Year, and On December 31, people stay up late and prepare to celebrate the new year. As soon as the clock strikes 12 people come out of their houses. Walks begin at entertainment venues, dances and entertainment programs take place. In this way, the coming year is welcomed and the outgoing year is sent away.
Today, like these Christians, many Muslims also look forward to the New Year and eagerly wait for the 31th of December. While this is the case for Christians. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "He who imitates a nation becomes one of them." Muslims have their own lunar Islamic system of history, which is connected with the migration of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), which begins with Muharram al-Haram. Then why do Muslims celebrate the arrival of this new year?
Islam absolutely does not allow us that people go out of their way on New Year or any other occasion, burst firecrackers, set off fireworks, organize dances and dances, participate in various events. The worrying thing is that the methods being adopted to celebrate the New Year are very dangerous for the society. It is having negative effects on the young generation, nudity and obscenity are increasing. Dance and song programs are organized in which the young generation participates in large numbers and on the other hand different circles are highlighted who discuss the fundamental beliefs of Islam through print media and electronic media. Kobeja is used to target new generations in particular.
The place to think is how to protect the new generation from all these things. The need is that how to protect Muslim societies, neighborhoods and Muslim populations from such events? In this regard, people who are responsible for the nation can play an important role. If the Muslim Ummah is not informed about the results during western celebrations like New Year and they are left to their own devices, then such obscene acts and gossips will occur in the Muslim society. It will bring dire consequences in the society.
Apart from this, we need to take account of ourselves, how many good deeds and how many bad deeds have been recorded in our deeds. Have we recorded such good deeds in our records this year that we will be happy to see them on the Day of Resurrection and that will be beneficial for us in this world and the hereafter? We have to take account of ourselves that there has been no decrease in obedience to Allah this year. Did we obey or disobey Allah and His Messenger? Are our neighbors safe from our suffering or not? Did we pay the rights of parents, neighbors and relatives or not? Apart from this, we should take account of our lives in the field of worship, matters, halal and haram, and payment of deeds and see where we have made mistakes. If we look back at the past year, we have had less joys and more sorrows in this year. How many tragedies have happened? Have you found what you are celebrating for? How can you celebrate in this atmosphere of oppression and oppression?
An atmosphere of celebration and happiness is created when there is peace and prosperity everywhere. While Muslims are becoming economically, socially and educationally weak and politicians are busy fooling the people in the process of saving their seat or creating their seat. How can you celebrate the New Year? Muslims! Now wake up. How long will you live in the slavery of non-Muslims? This festival is illegal in all respects. It has nothing to do with our culture and our society. It is also against our values. Our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ is a model for the whole world and following his Sunnah, Muslims should celebrate their own Islamic festivals instead of celebrating the festivals of non-Muslims.
